ARTAS® Robotic Hair Transplant

What is Robotic Hair Restoration?

The ARTAS® system takes individual hair follicular units from the back and side of the head. These areas are not impacted by male pattern baldness. These follicles are then transplanted into thinning or balding areas of the anterior scalp, mid-scalp, or crown.

By using 3D imaging and mapping, artificial intelligence, and robotic technology, the ARTAS® system perfects this process with the exact right placement every time. Precision matters! ARTAS® eliminates human fatigue and human errors associated with other methods.

  • Should be Empty:

Restore Your Hair and Your Confidence

  • More Natural Look and Feel: Robotic hair restoration accurately extracts hair follicles from a small area behind your head and implants them in needed spots – leaving you with fuller, more natural-looking hair.

  • Minimally Invasive: ARTAS hair transplants are minimally invasive procedures, resulting in fewer cuts and less post-operative discomfort than traditional hair transplant methods.

  • Shorter Recovery Time: Unlike the FUT or strip procedure, there is no long, painful incision that needs to heal. For many patients, the donor and grafted sites heal within 2-3 days.

  • Long-Lasting Results: Patients can expect long-lasting results from ARTAS hair restoration, eliminating the need for additional treatments for many years following their procedure.

Why ARTAS Hair Restoration?

  • ARTAS utilizes 3-camera stereoscopic vision with 44-micron resolution and a 7-axis robotic arm for greater precision.

  • ARTAS identifies and creates optimal recipient sites and simultaneously implants each harvested graft.

  • Dr. Dubey customizes the hairline design to ensure that the transplanted hair growth patterns will look natural.
  • In 4-6 months, your transplanted follicles will begin growing new hair, providing a natural-looking, lasting hair solution.

Results of Robotic Hair Restoration

  • The ARTAS® Robotic Hair Transplant System will give you back a natural hair pattern with no scarring and virtually no pain.

  • Precision matters. The ARTAS® system eliminates the linear scarring and human errors caused by fatigue associated with other methods.

  • At Austin Hair Restoration, we feel the ARTAS® Robotic system delivers the best solution for hair loss.

Advantages of ARTAS® iXi

Few hair loss treatments can match the ARTAS® System’s capabilities and the quality of hair transplant it delivers.

The robotic procedure with ARTAS iXi leaves no scar and is virtually painless. Unlike traditional hair loss procedures that use strip harvesting, ARTAS uses follicular unit extraction (FUE).

The robotic arm extracts individual hair follicles from the donor area and moves them to the recipient area. This reduces trauma to the donor site, resulting in quicker recovery with less discomfort.

Removing and transplanting thousands of individual hair follicles demands precision and accuracy to ensure a successful transplant. The ARTAS system was designed to meet these exact requirements.

How ARTAS Robotic Hair Restoration Works

ARTAS uses intelligent algorithms and high-resolution images of the scalp area to identify and target the best donor follicles for harvesting. This ensures that each graft is of high quality, securing greater yield and ensuring transplant success.

Then, with the assistance of Dr. Dubey, the robot begins evenly removing hair follicles from the donor area, leaving it undetectable after the hair grows.

The harvested hairs are then analyzed and sorted before transplantation. The ARTAS® Recipient Site Mapping technology creates a natural site distribution pattern for the transplanted area. It then uses 3D head mapping and software algorithms to create a plan for transplantation. This technology ensures that healthy hairs are identified and not damaged before they are transplanted.

Common Questions

The ARTAS hair transplant system is a robotic hair restoration system. The current model, the ARTAS® iXi, has advanced three-camera stereoscopic vision with 44-micron resolution and a 7-axis robotic arm that accurately identifies and creates optimal recipient sites during the transplant process. Patients will start growing new hair in the transplanted sites within four to six months.

During the first part of the process, follicles are removed from the back and side of the head. These follicles are then processed and finally transplanted into thinning or balding areas.

The ARTAS hair transplant process is virtually painless. Patients will receive a natural-looking hairline without any scarring.

During an FUE procedure, the healthy hair follicles transplanted from the back and sides of your head to thinning areas will last a lifetime. These follicles are not vulnerable to the conditions that cause male pattern baldness.

Healthy follicles are removed from the back of the head. The harvested hairs are analyzed and sorted. The ARTAS® Recipient Site Mapping technology creates a natural site distribution pattern for the transplanted area and implants the healthy follicles.

ARTAS is the world’s only robotic hair transplant procedure and is FDA-cleared. It is physician-assisted robotic surgery, providing permanent and natural results. This procedure is virtually scarless and minimally invasive.

ARTAS is a robotic-assisted device. This means that the ARTAS machine digitally maps the donor area and harvests donor hair so that the area retains its original appearance. In addition, it uses a blunt dissection technique that minimizes injury to the grafts, which improves the likelihood of a successful transplant.

However, NeoGraft is a hand-held system. It uses the sharp punch method of extraction. Since it is not robot-operated, success depends on the skill and technique of the user.

Success rates for the ARTAS hair transplant procedure can sometimes be as high as the upper 90th percentile. Even though the ARTAS success rate varies from person to person, it is the only robotic hair transplant system for men that is FDA approved.
